Timberwolf have been designing and manufacturing wood chippers and shredders for 30 years. Based in Stowmarket, with an expansive dealer network spread across the UK and Europe, Timberwolf have succeeded in becoming the largest seller of commercial wood chip machines in Great Britain.
Slowly but surely becoming a British institution, Timberwolf have sold over 10,000 units to date and specialise in the manufacture of road tow, tracked, tractor mounted, gravity and hydraulic feed wood chippers and specialist multi-purpose shredders.
With an innovative research and design process, robust British manufacturing methods, unrivalled dealer training and a fantastic customer support network, Timberwolf machines are designed to perform for your business.
Having started life in a small unit in Kent, Timberwolf have been manufacturing chip and shred machines for many years and are now celebrating their 30th year of manufacturing.
First known as Entec, the initial business focus was to manufacture small gravity-fed chippers to satisfy a niche market. The early years were spent developing and modifying the prototypes (whilst moving to larger premises in the Suffolk countryside).
1995 saw the creation of the ‘Chippit 30’ and the start of Timberwolf's success in the hydraulic chipper market. Outperforming its competitors, this machine cost substantially less than other makes and ensured a period of rapid growth for us.
By the time 1997/1998 came around, Timberwolf was the most popular professional wood chipper manufacturer in the UK. Three gravity feed and three hydraulic feed models were successfully being manufactured at this time, and a significant goal was achieved – the 1,000th chipper was sold.
Once it grew beyond just the tree surgeon market, Entec became Timberwolf in 1999 to accommodate the expanding wood chipper market.
2002 saw the move to a purpose-built factory in Stowmarket where the Timberwolf team still reside and produce all of the machines. Over 2,000 models had been sold by this point and the 10th dealer was appointed to assist with the UK market domination.
For the next six years, the focus was on expanding the UK coverage and establishing a dealer network that covered the entire UK. 4,000 machines had been produced and the factory had doubled in size to cope with the demand.
Not forgetting the launch of the first Timberwolf shredder, which took place in 2007. When the worldwide recession hit the UK particularly hard in 2008, Timberwolf used this as an opportunity to expand their export markets into France, Holland, Belgium and Spain.
Keeping up with the ever-changing demands within their target markets, the TW 350DHB (t) was launched in 2010 – a substantial machine in terms of chipper design and one that has laid the foundations for the future Timberwolf machines.
Timberwolf have recently exported machines to the Middle East and are working extremely hard to forge international relations so that the Timberwolf export market continues to expand in the coming years.
